About the event
Do the hows and whys of soil health ever feel a bit… muddy? Join Sauk County Land Resources and Environment Department, the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, and American Farmland Trust for the Dig into the “Why” of Soil Health field day at the Sauk County Farm. The event will be from 9:00 am - 12:30 pm on Tuesday, June 25th with a free lunch to follow.
Every farmer’s soil health “why” is unique-from increased yields, to reduced inputs, to long-term resource management, to cleaner waterways- the reasoning can be as diverse as Wisconsin’s soils. During this field day, you’ll learn how to guide farmers through unearthing their why, and what implementation practices can best fit unique soil conservation goals including cover cropping, rotational grazing, and soil management test plots.
Please dress for light walking through a working farm. Registration is limited, sign up today to reserve your lunch: https://forms.office.com/r/LhC0V11Jzw or call 608-390-2756.
